On 10th January 2020 we launched our latest Rock School. The opening night of All Stars Chelmsford was a great success giving students a free taster session of what to expect from the weekly school sessions. Our amazing tutors, George our Drum Tutor, Adam our Guitar Tutor, Liam our Bass Tutor, Lauren our Vocal Coach and Ash our Co Founder welcomed over 50 children across two groups, Juniors (aged 6 – 11) and Seniors (aged 12 – 18).
The students on the free taster session had a broad range of musical experiences, most had never picked up an instrument before and some had been playing for a number of years. After a rousing rendition of Mr Brightside and Sweet Child Of Mine by the tutors, the students broke out into instrument sessions to learn We Will Rock You and Seven Nation Army. By the end of the evening most, encouraged by our tutors, found the confidence to get up in front of their new band mates and perform. Each session finished with excited students and proud parents. We heard lots of stories of students rushing home to practice their instruments and we saw some great images shared on social media of smiling students being musical.
The All Star Rock School Chelmsford is now live every Friday at the Beaulieu Community Centre, Chelmsford, CM1 6AU Juniors start 4.15pm – 6.15pm and Seniors at 6.15pm – 8.15pm. We welcome anyone from absolute beginners to rock and roll stars and as soon as any student is comfortable we’ll get them playing in a real band setting.
At All Star Rock School we encourage students to learn an instrument or sing (or both!), we help develop those skills, building their confidence and creating friendships that last. Every week students get to learn one or two new rock tracks over an hours tuition and perform as a band for an hour. Over the weeks they will perfect a set list ready for performing to parents and the public! As well as our Rock School tuition we also provide private musical tuition through our school. All students are given the opportunity to perform every week and we’re always looking for new opportunities to take our students out and perform in public.
Over the coming months our Rock School students will be performing in Colchester Town Centre, at a number of local festivals, two bands will be competing in a schools rock prom competition and we’ve got a secret gig booked at a very famous landmark. More information will follow!
